Sadiq Khan is fond of telling us he is the son of a Bus Driver and his mother was a seamstress, so lowly beginnnings....
i guess that Shaun has a similar background....

The Mayor is not just a figurehead, he wields enormous power, the budget for the GLA is huge.

What is the role of the Mayor of London?
Policing, fire and emergency planning. The mayor sets the Met’s budget and holds the force to account, as well as being responsible for fire and emergency planning.

Starmer under pressure for me, especially if he loses a majority of over 3,500 at Hartlepool, latest poll suggests a defeat!!
Question Author
he is our local MP i believe...
What races are the other candidates? Should their votes reflect the respective percentages of their races in London?
Question Author
this is essentially as Sadiq Khan said, a two horse race, and race will undoubtedly play a part. Shame that it will, as it should be the best candidate, party....
