There were 38,462 more votes for Unionist parties counting only the constituency votes but I don't have the full figures for the List candidates.

But does a vote for a Unionist part translate to a No to leave in an Independence vote. And similar for SNP votes, do they all really translate to a yes to leave the union?

My personal opinion remains the same. I am sick to the back teeth of hearing and seeing this awful woman.

Let them go but allow those that want to be part of the Union to move South where they will be very much welcomed by me. But no coming back for those that choose to leave the Union.

I'm anti what's happening to them, I don't want them to make the huge error they are intent on making. Many of them seem to disregard any logical questions that arise. "Independence" at any cost, then they'll go cap in hand to the EUSSR to see how they'd like them to prostrate themselves at their feet. Like it or not Scotland is not a viable country economically without some very painful changes. Brexit was irrelevant, it was a UK vote, I do not recognise convenient areas that were remain in isolation.

No mandate for indyref2 but it should go ahead asap. If Scots are willing to give a majority in their parliament to parties wanting independence they should be given the opportunity to have that policy implemented. Put up or shut up.

I agree entirely with Davebro @ 10:17. Let them have their new independence referendum, if it's what they want then the English-centric government have no right to stand in their way. If it goes pear shaped, it's the responsibility of the elected Scottish government to sort it out.

I agree. I see no legal or constitutional objection to an advisory referendum. If the answer is still no then the matter can be put to bed. If yes, then the politicking can begin.

Gove has said they wont challenge it in the Courts.

So lets see if the wee un goes ahead with it. The problem will be what if the vote doesnt go her way. Will she shut up? I somehow doubt it.

The paradox is that the Scots vote SNP as they think they can screw the best deal out of Westminster, but if the SNP gets it's way they won't be getting a red cent from Westminster! It stinks.
