spicerack, i knew you were, BR was a disaster, poor, inadequate trains, services often disrupted by strikes, can't see anything good about renationalising the railways.

Canary, I am happy to agree with you, it's one of the things I have been urging for decades. It's been a shambles so bringing it all back together is good. However we should not return to the bad old days of British rail inefficiency.
