Although I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments expressed by Deskdiary we do need to bear in mind those who may be housebound for reasons other than Covid. The lockdown had no effect on me as I was housebound for over three years. I can only walk a few steps with a stick and rely on an electric scooter. Unfortunately I was also nearly blind with cataracts; I could no longer read or write and couldn't see where I was going when out. I was a danger to myself and others if I tried to use my scooter. Fortunately I was lucky enough to have my cataracts removed last June and as I can now walk a little better, but not much, I have been able to get out over the past few months.
