However I am not sure if the social structures in some cultures make it easier to make the jump from thought to action. It's obvious some on here would like to believe it. I prefer to believe that good people from all cultures will condemn this behaviour.
Theland, do you count Catholics as Christians?

Not all Catholics are paedophiles. Not even most.

I’ve waded through the usual hysteria on both sides and have found myself scratching my head at the OP and the responses. There is no elephant in the room. This disgusting creature - for that is what he is - is a paedophile - not to be confused with the other disgusting creatures that make up the Muslim gangs who are not paedophiles but who ply young non-Muslim girls with alcohol and drugs and groom them for sex.
I believe in doing the same, maybe less forcefully, having lived in populations that have a high Muslim percentage I have found ,like all in communities the vast majority are decent, kind friendly people who are trying to do the best they can for their families, who condemn the awful things some people do. The only paedophiles I have been unfortunate enough to encounter in my life were a church of England curate, a grammar school teacher, and the aforementioned hospital consultant, ( he was only a registrar when I knew him). What they had in common, all were regular church goers who had positions which earned them the respect and trust, they were white and I believe to some extent may have had the protection of their white church friends.
The curate was sent on a 'retreat', the other two were imprisoned. Neither uk case made the national press,
I do believe there is an agenda within certain newspapers aimed at demonising the followers of Islam, and this is not going to help the ordinary members of that group be part of our society.

Rowanwitch, I believe in doing the same [telling it as it is], maybe less forcefully..
You tell it as you perceive it to be from your personal experience which is not necessarily ‘as it is’.
//The only paedophiles I have been unfortunate enough to encounter in my life were a church of England curate, a grammar school teacher, and the aforementioned hospital consultant//
Perhaps that’s because you weren’t aware of other paedophiles among your acquaintances. They're hardly likely to confess to you are they?

You could be right - but I think that extends more so to some of the posters here who, without knowing very much at all about Islam, will point the finger - or conversely defend the indefensible.
The bottom line here is that this man isn’t doing what he’s doing because he’s following Islam. Like all paedophiles, he’s a dirty-minded, dangerous creep. Religion in this instance is irrelevant.

Isn't that all anyone can do? One can only tell it "as it is" from ones own standpoint. To believe that your own opinion is the factual truth for all shows are level of self importance that I don't think any of us have.
