Why Would You Volunteer For A Covid Test?

All these tests that are being carried out, are people just volunteering to have them done or is there a reason, are they being requested to? Why would anyone risk volunteering to have one without good reason with the risk of being told to self idolate for 10 days? There is no way I am ever having a test, can't see the point, I've been vaccinated. It's only due to more testing that the infection count is rising, making the paranoid even more paranoid, its self defeating.

I think (?) these are in the “surge” areas. I reckon most are volunteering for the good of their neighbours as wld like to keep the virus under control.

I get what You say about the paranoia tho. This entire covid melarkey is fuelled by fear.

Yes, covid exists. No, we do not need to alter our world as we have!

I’ve had a test but only cos I had symptoms. (Wasn’t covid)

In any event I don’t think the tests are always accurate !
// It's only due to more testing that the infection count is rising //

It is important to find those who have covid so we can slow down or stop it spreading.
Complaining that we are detecting more people is missing the point entirely.
Avoiding taking a test because if it is positive you will not be allowed to spread it for 10 days is really selfish.

Exactly I was visited by a council employee who asked me to take the test for that very reason.
Most people on here know where I stand with the whole gubbins. Totally unnecessary from the start. I rarely wear a mask as they serve no purpose other than a theraputic one to give people the impression that they are being protected in some way. I have never used hand sanitiser, another futile thing. I have not had a Covid test either, and have no intentions of having one. SD has done nothing and is largely ignored by most people - ask the staff in shops and shopping centres. Lots of people are in support of these measures despite the fact that the UK had the highest infection rates in the world. Laughably, some people say without the measures it would have been worse! How could it be worse than it was? State Control has done nothing but show how the govt can manipulate and brainwash the population. And the population has totally allowed it to happen, when t'weren't necessary at all. Apart from that, everything's fine thanks! :o)
You completely misunderstand still 10cs but its understanable in a way if you haven't lost friends or family or don't know people who have lost someone or whose been very Ill, or if you havrnt seen the struggles of hospitals and nhs staff and teachers and care workers. If your selfish enough to carry on and infect others that's your choice. Have a move day
I typed nice not move
Dave I've been jabbed twice but know a can still catch it but less likely to get it real bad and can still pass it on even without symptoms. When I'm visiting elderly relatives and those who havent been jabbed or are still vulnerable I doa lateralflow test as I dont want to infect them. All negative so far but if positive how could anyone risk infecting others, so selfish.
Bob, you are the typical person in this charade by the govt. It's you who the govt is targetting. And you believe everything they tell you.

The people who died were the most vulnerable. They died because they didn't have the protection they should have had, despite everyone knowing which people were most vulnerable. You seem to condone that, (the action of the govt.) Also don't assume things and get on your high horse about our wonderful NHS, key workers etc. You know nothing, you just think you do, and show your obvious susceptibility to govt and media manipulation. But I'm still ok, thanks! :o)
I have lots of family in nhs and fit close friend whose had long covid for 12 months and cant work no more.and I see the figures on deaths and follow all the science on vaccines, spread. So am fully informed unlike those like you who made up there mind at the start and ignore the truth or are just to self centresd to see it
If I may 10c you are bonkers, not all that have died have been vulnerable many younger people have died too and far more than the normal flu deaths.
08.06 SD?

// It's only due to more testing that the infection count is rising //

That isn’t true of course. There are other ways of measuring the infection rate
SD = Social Distancing.

With any issues of illness, there will be some who are more vulnerable than others. This was pointed out to people at the start of the State Control in March last year. I am not bonkers, Martin, just because my opinion differs from yours, and I have justified my opinions many times on here. You have absolutely no right to say that about me. However, I'm still ok thanks. Time for brekkie! Thanks for the replies folks. :o)
I wouldn’t allow myself to get as wound up about it all as you do, Clarion, because it achieves nothing. If I’m required to wear a mask I do - and if asked to do a test I would. I just go with the flow. I don’t like it - but that’s what I do. I see no point in doing anything else.
Thanks Naomi. You're right of course. I obey the law!
:o)
At the moment, if you are asked to self- isolate, you have to whether you have been vaccinated or not. If that changes then I’d have thought you’d have a good reason to take a test
//I have lots of family in nhs//

So do I and one is my daughter who is a hospital doctor. They dont have your take on this at all.

FRom day 1 you have been a Covid worshiper calling people who dont follow your over enthusiastic beliefs Covid idiots etc.

Well clearly Hancock doesn't believe the rubbish he spouts either!
To answer the OP - No.
I would not volunteer either, but I don’t think most people are “volunteering” are they?
yes I think it's time to stop most of the testing, it's irrelevant anyway. It is clear that any link between number of cases and death has now been broken by vaccinations. It's like testing for the common cold now, pointless.
