I've been in a few shops since restrictions were lifted, without wearing a mask and it seems I am in a minority at the moment. I am left wondering if people are indeed following advice by wearing the mask indoors in public places or is it a case not wanting to be one of the first to take it off, hence everyone is looking at what everyone else is doing and just going with the flow. My wife went into town yesterday and she did exactly that, entered the shop without a mask, saw everyone else was wearing one and so she put hers on as she didn't want to stand out. Perhaps mask wearing will indeed continue by consent for a while yet as the government is hoping.

Yes, I think we should still all be wearing masks, they give so much protection to other people when you are in a store. After all, even if you have had two jabs you can still catch it and end up in hospital. I went into Waitrose yesterday and all the customers were wearing masks, none of the staff were, so I will go elsewhere to shop now. Personally I think compulsory mask wearing will be back with other restrictions by late summer.
i was on a train and at a shopping center yesterday, and most people were wearing masks, including me, i did take mine off for a time as i was stifling in the heat.
Two months ago we had 3,000 new covid cases a day.
Now we are getting 50,000+ new covid infections daily.

I would need more than advice from a Government who have a 20 month record of getting it all wrong, before I stop wearing my mask.
Didn't wear mine in Asda on Monday, along with many others even staff members. A friend of mine went to Sainsbury's and she said she was the only one not wearing a mask. I will continue not to wear one, especially in this heat. Cue the do-gooders !!! Who I will take no notice of by the way ...
I've see a few still walking down the street like darth vader!
Wear it if it makes you feel good and dont wear it if you dont want to, especially in this heat which is a real problem for me.

But both sides should respect each other's decision.

Shops up the road from me not many mask wearers. But then a lot had stopped wearing them before the 19th.
I probably won't bother now - it was about 50/50 in Aldi yesterday.
I was out in B&Q, and Argos yesterday, and most people were wearing masks. I noticed it was the younger ones who didn't wear one. I did have to remove mine a couple of times, only because I felt stifled in heat.
young people are invulnerable, patsy.

Except that they seem to be at considerably higher risk of long Covid.
I was in Morrisons this morning, not too busy as it was quite early, but only one elderly man not wearing a mask and I suspect he was excempt. Everyone keeping distance too so I didn't need to use my cattle prod!!
bruh even if i was the only one in a mask id keep it on lol
I'd say about 95% of people both in shops and on the bus wore masks. A few staff in shops didn't though.
I have no problem continuing to do so.
And if I was the only one NOT wearing a mask, I still wouldn't put one on.
yh u already said lol
Those that want to wear a mask carry on. Those that do not want to wear a mask carry on. Individual choice. Just respect that choice made by others.

I wasn't judging people, just making an observation. It's like who is going to blink first, the first to remove their mask.

Sounds to me like your judging people- your saying mask wearers as only wearing masks because they dont want to stand out. Could be they think its a good idea to wear one
^ OMG that's laughable coming from YOU, you make nasty comments all the time about people who don't wear masks !!
Tiresome nonsense
