Freedom day should have marked the start of a economic recovery, but no, we have hammered a new nail through our foot. Turn the kin thing off NOW! Does anyone support the "pingdemic"? All it's done is create a method of bunking off work. Surely the government can see it serves no purpose. What was the purpose of the vaccine if we still carry on like there isn't one?

“ the app is fine, it is performing its function as designed” Yes fair comment. What is rubbish is the fact that the govt didn’t anticipate this situation. And is now not acting decisively to deal with it. In fact worse, sending out confused messages

Danny walk away from it, I’ll report this idiots lack of respect to people such as yourself, Why? Because I was brought up with manners!
Danny, why are you joining in this squabble fest - I thought you'd be above all that.
//It is absurd that if I, as an office worker were pinged (if I had the app), I'd have to isolate, but if I worked in Tesco and were pinged, I wouldn't have to isolate.//

What's more absurd, dd, is that nobody has to do anything. You don't have to have the app and you don't have to comply with its advice if you are pinged. That's why I don't understand why the government is setting up a "scheme" to exempt some employees from certain businesses. Exempt them from what?
You read a post...think about it and decide to offer your twopence worth.

Then you see Gulliver is behaving as Gulliver always does, the thread will deteriorate so why bother.

Lynne, I usually am but he just gets under my skin .
Just because I don't vote Conservative? eh!

naomi: "Bobbi, why do you bother to argue with Gulliver? He doesn't mind making himself look a fool so let him carry on. " - never argue with an idiot, they bring down to their level then beat you with experience.

ich 13:06, can't argue with that, BA.
A quarter of a million people caught Covid in the last 7 days, so of course the app is pinging.
It should be turned off because it is working. We should stop it pinging by stopping new infections. The under 20s should be prioritised for the jab.

The vital information they are not telling us is how many of the quarter of a million have been double jabbed like Javid was. The AZ trial was on a small number of subjects and recorded 62% effective. I wonder how accurate that now is with 6 months worth of real case data and the new variants?

most of them will have been vaccinated gromit. That is why it's pointless. The vaccine is the way out of this. The connection between hospitalisations and contractions in broken. Gawd it's CSE stats for gawd sake!

I think it's ludicrous and I keep thinking what the hell will they come up with next !! I don't have a modern phone, but if I did, I definitely wouldn't have had this app. Haven't I read that they are going to 'turn it off' for supermarket workers, as they don't want a food shortage ??
It should be completely turned off with no exceptions.
