THECORBYLOON

I will repeat the question.

How to you explain the not guilty verdict then ?
GROMIT, a Judge can give a Direction to a Jury to return a guilty verdict based upon the evidence but as happened in the Clive Ponting case involving the Official Secrets Act, the Jury can ignore the Direction.

There's a lot more to this case than you seem to think, gromit.
It had practically nothing to do with reports going to the wrong department. Lol.

You still haven’t answer my quest how the jury got their verdict ‘wrong’ .

Top marks for a brilliant piece of deflection though.
Comparing a prosecution for housing fraud with how the Judge behaved in a prosecution under the Official Secrets Act 37 years ago.

Please elaborate. I link to the additional information you have would be nice.

If you'd followed the trial you'd know.
But you could start by reading the BA and work backwards from there. Hope that helps

Can't wait to hear her defence.
It'll be a thing of beauty, I'm sure. //

I wonder if she's related to Shamima?
Spicerack

You’ve been gleefully waiting 7 months for her to face justice. The wrong verdict must have come as a terrible disappointment to you.

GROMIT, I've not said the verdict was wrong, have I?

Part of the offence is that it has to be carried out dishonestly. That means that if a notification procedure had not been followed but the reasons for that failure were not dishonest, a person is not guilty of an offence.

This link shows part of the defence was that claims had been made falsely in her name

Lol. Now you can see there is more to this case than you thought and it's made you angry, gromit.
As for me being disappointed at the 'wrong' verdict, I've never made any claims about the outcome of the trial.
But I know someone who did. (on the first day of the trial no less)
Whatever makes you think I am angry? The opposite.
I am pleased the jury acquitted her. I am pleased for her they accepted her defence, and I am pleased that I called it right a fortnight ago.
// I've never made any claims about the outcome of the trial. //

Yep Spicerack, you were really sitting on the fence on this one…

// if you spent less time defending the indefensible and took a look around, you'd know that Muslim Labour politicians from Tower Hamlets have a long and dishonourable tradition of Housing Benefit fraud.
If you and your virtue-signalling mates and/or even Muslim people themselves don't want their wonderful religion associated with crime*, how about this for an idea, 'Leave that part of your culture in Muslim countries. We don't admire it in this country'. //

Stop digging up all my old posts, gromit. It's creepy and it isn't doing anything for your case.
It wasn't a council mistake, a fraud was perpetrated. The person who was accused said it wasn't me, somebody else did it. The Jury believed her.
The person she blamed was (trumpets) a Muslim Labour politician from Tower Hamlets.

11:49, I wondered that too.

She must have got the same lawyer and the same jury as Alec Salmond got.
^@11.07.
Tower Hamlets Council have admitted they lost.
So everyone is happy. Good result.
