So there is a God up there.
I'm not sure it makes much difference what the results were. If anything, it might persuade more people that a few hormones are the only difference and that it was fair.
If this person represented Team GB would you show the same kind of attitude?
ABSOLUTELY.

Was she the only transgender competitor at these games?
lots of people out of the Olympics, but you start a thread on the transgender one. Isn't that nice!

Who are you talking to Need to Know?

I talk to your sigh of relief spicerack. Are you relieved because New Zealand didn't take gold?
NeedToKnow, I think the naysayers were all based on any unfair advantage gained by being Trans. Her being a Kiwi is irrelevant.

Why 'Phew'?

Because of the athelete's transgender status, her nationality? Either? Neither? Both?

The fact is, the athelete was qualified to take part in the Games under the rules as they stand.

If you take exception to that, have a pop at the rule-makers, not the athlete - you'll come across as a lot less ignorant and predjudiced than the wording of your OP implies that you are.

Laurel was gracious in defeat and it was good to hear how much support she had received despite the surrounding controversy.

Well done too to Li Wenwen and Emily Campbell.

Bit ignorant Naomi24.
If you are trying to pick a fight Naomi you won't get one from me.

Those of us on this thread who have used 'she' are perfectly allowed to do so.

Whilst being honest you can also be ignorant to other people. Just because you're speaking your own truth doesn't mean it's someone else's truth.

Maybe if you woke up to the social issues that surround the topic you wouldn't have such strong opinions about other people. Other people you probably will never meet or see in your life.
