Covid App Log Out?

I have just downloaded the NHS Covid app, not the pinging one, in case I go abroad. Should I log out of it or is it safe to stay logged in? Is an NHS Covid Passport Letter as good as the app as my husband doesn’t have a mobile phone? Sorry I have asked something similar before.

I don’t think the expiry date matters if the Q code doesn’t need to be scanned
I’m not sure how big an “if” that is …

The onscreen pass and printed version both have a QR code and an expiry date. So looking at or scanning the pass will show whether it has expired.

The code is only for use when scanning into places like cafes I think. The proof you have been double jabbed doesn’t expire

The international pass is different and includes vaccination details. I’d imagine that is what on in the OP’s letters

The pass expires but the information about when you were jabbed, which vaccine you received, is available in the NHS app.

This is all getting beyond me a bit. No smartphone etc., both double-vaccinated. I let my passport lapse when it expired last year (why pay for something you can't use?) and am now thinking about applying for a new one. I get it that I can apply to the NHS for a letter saying I'm vaccinated. Can I take this along to the P.O. and get it added to my new passport somehow? Other snag is that my expired passport is in my maiden name, which I wish to keep for various reasons, and vaccination was done under my married name.

Advice and clarity, please? I can take marriage cert along to the P.O..
