I'm not sure there's anything very surprising in all that - if it's exactly the same as for her father's death, that would be royalty as normal. And I imagine she's already approved every minute detail herself, so it's unlikely to be anything in it that would shock her.

Hard to say whether it was deliberately leaked or just left on a bus, which seems to happen to secret documents quite often.
Are there any surprises?
I think most of us would expect all of this and more to happen when we lose our Queen. After all the years she has served us she deserves nothing less. I too think the Queen would approve this.
Hope that they find who leaked this and deal with him/her in whatever manner is appropriate.
Not good but I think the comment about the leak being cruel is a bit over the top. I don’t doubt for a moment that the queen isn’t aware of the plan so it’s hardly hurtful to her.
I've heard rumours that Day Two, Queen's body returns to Buckingham Palace, may be by HGV - do you keep a black tie handy, Hopkirk?
I'm not allowed to talk about it.

Philip did travel by Land Rover Defender, so anything's possible.
as long as Philip isn't driving your HGV. He was bad enough when he was alive.
Just because it was leaked doesn't mean it had to be reported.
// may be by HGV //

can the industry spare a driver for this?

The article says the palace bods are furious. Hmmmm! Now I wonder who might have had sight of this and would like to upset the palace bods! Hmmmm again.
I'm sure preparations are in place for several prominent people who are nearing the end of their lives. Sometimes papers mistakenly print detailed obituaries of celebs who are still alive!
davebro, yes, obituaries of celebs are routinely prepared well in advance - the Queen's has probably been on file everywhere since 1952 if not earlier - and updated where necessary. You quite often see a note on the end saying the writer actually died years before their subject. eg

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2021/may/12/norman-lloyd-obituary
Nothing surprising at all - has anyone consulted Her Maj though?
I remember reading that when Princess Diana died, things had to be put into place very quickly. Apparently the "plans" for the Queen Mother were used and she wasn't best pleased. Probably just an urban myth.
I have heard of Operation London Bridge before and this link is from 2017 so it's hardly top secret.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/mar/16/what-happens-when-queen-elizabeth-dies-london-bridge
well she wont mind she will be dead
and her death wont exactly be secret - innit

I mean a secret plan to deal with terrorists-
we will seek them out and kill them....
so long as it doesnt say:

we will lock ourselves in our police stations and barracks and drink tea like the firemen did in Manchester,2017 and Transport Police did in Tavistock Sq 2005

and THAT boys and girls why everyone now says:
"the police and security rushed to assist....."
because there were instances - Hungerford was the first 1981 when they sat around and drank tea
( and the police in Paree, outside Bataclan, inside 99 were shot)

They practise at ungodly hours in summer
like soon after dawn - June 0400

Dr Who and the Tardis bump into them ( filmed also at ungodly hours in London when the script calls for everyone to be er dead )

Princess Di's funeral was recycled ( OK repurposed) from the Queen Mum's
Damn savage......etc
Laughable that the Mail appears to be taking the moral high ground, then goes ahead and prints the 'secret death plan'. :-/
