Getting him to link to the story HE is talking about would help us address the points made from the position of the OP. Seems logical to me. If I blurted out a loud inaccurate headline you'd all, rightly, press me for where I got the info, I'm simply doing the same.
selling honours - as a con
well my dears - clearly you dont learn from my stories
Mushie dear mushie mentioned that OBE stood for - other bagguz efforts.
when they were invented 1915 to show recognition of war work ( The great war that is!) - they all said war profiteers would get them ( like Viscount Stansgate)
and hem hem - - the P M said to the honours-seller extraordinaire Maundy Gregory - "how much can we get for an OBE" - a thousand I think they answer was ( not sure)
and the P M was - - - lloyd George - Lib and not con for those who just scraped history o level.
Lloyd George had sold the Lord Chancellorship ( chief law officer and speaker of the lords) to the highest bidder ( £100,000 then money) Lord Birkenhead ( old F E Smith) - - and I was always surprised as a law student that Birkenhead wasnt a BAD LC
just trying to bring a seam of common sense into this crazy thread

Let's not forget that the "Cash for Honours Scandal" was under a Labour government:

I think that, even if it was shown that Charles had accepted cash for honours (which it won't be), associating it with the "Cons" would be a mistake. Politics in our country is truly broken, probably beyond all repair ...

weighing and balances occurs in two themes
in hieroglyphic - the old religion had - in the Book of the Dead (sometimes I think that is another name for AB) - weighing of the pharaohs heart against a feather - big thing i Exodus apparently
Ammut gets to eat it if it had been too heavy
and in Aristophanes the Frogs - the authors' one liners are weighed against each other ( cant remember who wins)
Prince Chazza would win in either
