As for 'thin end of the wedge -a silly argument when nothing else fits. Many people in healthcare and other professional s HAVE to have certain shots or they get no work -Hepatitis for example, rabies for vets. If anti vaxxers don't want the shots, then they should pay the consequences -pay for Covid related illness, and lose their jobs if they come into close...

// By the way, you can be double vaccinated (I am) and still catch it and be contagious //-
So why on earth then are we all getting vaccinated if it doesn't work (according to you)
// so what is the difference?//
Pretty obvious. One patient gets all the shots and unfortunately contracte covid again -not their fault. Another patient refuses the shots, gets covid and passes it onto others -totally their fault.

When I was donating blood a couple of weeks ago I was surprised at how many of the staff at the donor centre had little sympathy for the unvaccinated and another wanted to see no jab no job introduced
I am still waiting to hear a sensible and rational viewpoint of an anti vaxer
Sounds like natural selection in a way

Isn't it the duty of medicine to treat all?
I know this argument is based on cost to the NHS, but everyone should be entitled to treatment.
I wondered about that too whilst remembering the interferon issue a while back when cost was stated as the reason not to treat women with breast cancer
As I said the last 24 hours has raised questions and arguments about healthcare
Many more arguments to come I guess

Because being vaccinated reduces, very considerably, your chances of becoming seriously ill should you contract the virus. The jury is out on whether it reduces your ability to contract it at all or to transmit the virus.
I believe that people refusing the vaccine (without a medical reason) are simply pillocks. That said, I defend unconditionally their right to be stupid. We don't do compulsory medical treatment in the UK - the law specifically prohibits it. Threatening to refuse treatment to the unvaccinated is effectively "constructive compulsion." We don't do compulsory 'flu vaccination. That disease is endemic, is highly infectious and has been killing people in their thousands for decades. But we don't deny treatment to unvaccinated 'flu victims.
