I suggest a parade with floats and flags, marching bands and possibly a royal guest to bring about a state of national euphoria (nothing to do with Europe, Tora). We can trick ourselves into believing that this is the best we can possibly hope for and be content. The day will finish with tea parties and bonfires and we'll be damned glad to have been allowed to...

I'm far from Naomi's biggest fan, but that is the nastiest, most patronising thing I've seen on AB. Reported.

What was nasty about 18.50? Whose side are ypu on?
Ooooh, hysteria.

ah I see mozz, you are talking about the post at 18:50, yes nasty piece of work.
When Boris took office Covid and the devastating expense it brought was unforeseen

nonsense. " 11 pandemic and epidemic preparedness exercises were carried out between 2015 and 2019. They included Exercise Alice, which in 2016 tested the country’s readiness to cope with Middle East respiratory syndrome, caused by a coronavirus."

And quite clearly the government didn't take a blind bit of notice of any of them. No good them whimpering "We could never have expected this." They could have, they should have, and they did. They just chose not to do anything about it.

Wish I could have got furloughed and sat on my ass all day.
But got lambasted instead for sharing a lift to work (when we told not to car share) with a bloke with whom I spent the day on a works van anyway.
Instead, I was told, that I should have caught the bus to work, thereby sharing a close proximity with a bus of strangers instead.
How bizzarre!!!
Yes, I was talking about Gully's patronising post at 18:50.

JD- What the hell do you mean "Who's side am I on"? That's got nothing to do with poltical sides. Just a really patronising personal dig at a fellow ABer.
A coup cld never happen in this country as too many of the populace is too gormless to bother to VOTE never mins staging a coup!

Wldnt mind regularly meeting in the pub to discuss our clandestine coup plans though lol!

Atheist. Strange thing to say. Why on earth would you think I’m interested in your opinion of me? I’m not.
@18.08.Thatcher was enabled and voted in by your friends in the SNP.SNP,the Tartan Tories, the Thatcher enablers.Thatcher enablers. Can you repeat this a million times,Ab Editor?
the real TGL enablers were the loony left and the unions. It was them that created the conditions for our greatest peace time PM, thanks all!
The sheeple of our exhausted country by and large will do as they are told, as they always have. I find it curious how some folk will pander to their oppressors. Trouble is there are to many voices, too many opinions. New Judge as usual puts it succinctly. Coup by the plebs? No way. A military take over might be possible, but again, too many diverse opinions.
But inside parliament(where the real power lies)the SNP sided with Thatcher. They enabled and voted Thatcher into power. The SNP,the Tartan Tories, the Thatcher enablers.
Excellent post at 19:17. Buffoon Boris is USELESS .....
You think the nationalist Johnson is useless, burly, you should come up to Scotland some time soon. The nationalist regime up here makes Johnsons lot look like the most talented government ever.
Naomi; I know you're not interested in what I say. I think that you aren't interested in what anyone says apart from those that agree with you. You don't really seem to ever respond to any argument apart from "you're wrong, and I don't agree with you."
