women need to be much more aware and never go out on their own in remote and/or dark situations... sadly...
a woman is killed every three days according to the BBC last night, by a partner or ex. what have we learned from that?
women are being killed in the day time......
A policeman AND a rapist ... OMG will he have a hard time in the slammer!
attitudes towards women have to be changed and taught from a very early age... too much violence portrayed with macho type connotations on internet and media for sure
//women need to be much more aware and never go out on their own//

Really?
women were being murdered long before we had social media, most murderers are known to their victim, also in the BBC news
i rarely go out at night, the one time i did recently, i felt incredibly uneasy about it.
indeed emmie but young boys and men are being educated more and more by internet/social media..not real life...
1ozzy, you only copied and pasted part of minty's post and that gives the wrong impression. She said 'in remote and/or dark situations'. I agree with her.
oz..I would not dream of venturing out alone in some areas whether dark or not..and certainly NEVER after twilight..changed days from earlier years
so what do we do with foreign murderers like the man who purportedly killed Sabina Nessa, he's Albanian, we couldn't educate him
Both genders suffer from vile crimes, it's not a one way street.
If the experts have a chance to understand a psychotic mind then maybe changes could be made that ensure safety for all.

I like the idea
i walked home which took 15 minutes that night, and wish i had got a taxi, which is absurd when you think of it.
soon it will be dark at 4/4.30, many women will be returning from work, same as men, should one be afraid all the time.
internet is global..as is social media... and has a lot to answer for
Anyone regardless of gender (and I believe there are many)
should be able to venture out.
If some people put those at danger they should be incarcerated and studied to try and find the reason why.
Killing the perpetrator will not eradicate the problem.
Learning why may help society
as i pointed out, according to BBC News most women aren't killed by a stranger, but a partner, husband or ex how do we educate those men.
emmie //should one be afraid all the time// No, but one should be cautious. There are things we need to do to reduce the risk of problems eg, lock your door when you leave the house and women going out in the dark is one of those situations that requires caution.
sadly that would be Utopia Oz and I don't agree with the " his mother dropped him on his head when he was a baby..poor soul" kid gloves... and of course men are victims of violence too..but the fact remains that more often than not it is men that offend against women..whether they are known to them or not..the root problem is lack of respect or worth afforded to the female being... and education from an early age is the answer..
