Where does one get one's pink badge? Are they available on Amazon (as the "I am exempt from wearing a face mask" versions were)? It seems they are:
Amazon.com User Recommendation
I see there are purple, black and red versions as well. I wonder what they mean.
But back to the serious business of parking spaces, how does one prove one qualifies. Is it just a case of "self-identifying" or is some sort of medical examination required?

//And so the thread tips over into...//
I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier. I've not heard of such cobblers for quite a while. Does it ever occur to non-heterosexual people that if they were not so eager to discuss their sexual proclivities nobody would know what they are, they would not be bullied or harassed and would not need special parking spaces.

//German car park unveils 'diversity' spaces reserved for LGBT drivers or migrants
Hanauer Parkhaus GmbH (HPG) built three 'diversity' parking spaces in an underground car park
City councillor Thomas Morlock said they will help people who feel 'a special need for protection'
A camera will monitor the use of the car park, although Morlock said the spaces are not necessarily reserved for 'a separate group of people' //
Three spaces, all breathe now.

Heterosexual have informed the world of their 'sexual proclivities' forever.
Do straight men never regale us with their opinions of "who they'd do"?
Have straight people never worn wedding rings to indicate their marital status?
Do straight people never write love songs to the oppose sex?

That's like saying to a Jew, "You can avoid anti-semitic abuse if you just wore your Star of David under your shirt and threw away your yarmulkes.

Not quite. Nobody (apart from Mrs NJ) knows my sexual preferences. The only outward sign I display of my sexual orientation is a wedding ring, but even that need not mean I'm married to a woman or even if I am, what by orientation might be.

It's exactly the same.
You just referred to your wife.
If you didn't want to refer to your sexual proclivities you should've used the word 'partner'.
There's nothing wrong with identifying the sex of your partner or which way you swung. Without that knowledge how would anyone know who to set you up on a date with?
Straight people by default have no issues with their partners' pronouns, they don't have to watch what they say at office parties, they can give their partner a kiss on a railway platform when they're taking a train to a conference, they can bring their new girlfriend/boyfriend to their grandad's birthday party without the world coming to an end, they can hold hands walking down the street without causing opprobrium.
I reckon in fifty years or so this'll be the same for all people no matter their sexuality.
In my lifetime I've seen *huge* changes in people's attitude to sex before marriage, children born our wedlock and interfaith/interracial marriage.
I think that younger people are leading the way with attitudes to sexuality. I told my nephew that in the 60s men were locked up for being gay and he actually thought I was joking.
See...there IS some good in Millennials!!!

The Star of David comparison stands.
If you didn't know someone was Jewish you would have no way of telling (well, with Jewish men there IS a way of telling, but it wouldn't at say, a party).
Effectively what you're saying is that in order not to become a victim of anti-semitic attacks, the best thing a Jew can do is keep their faith secret.
Only practice your religion at home.
Don't go to a synagogue.
Don't wear the Star of David.
Also, Anglacise your name.

gay has had a louche meaning even when Elizabeth referred to Drake as 'gay dog' - she was NOT saying: ' why, he whistleth the live-long day...'
