To be fair to Major Khan there is no confirmed link to what caused the murder to kill Sir David.

However I'm not convinced it was pure racism with Floyd either.

I think you're being rather too fair to him, YMB. It's certainly confirmed that he was brutally murdered - and by a Muslim.

Yes, certainly on the brutal murder bit. However as far as I can see at present they haven't truly linked his religious belief to the murder.

No Naomi, but we need to be careful, otherwise the usual crowd will be in to detract from the problem.

When, as I am sure it will be from reports, his religion is found to be behind this than will be the time to shout.

Also, I doubt very much Khan wrote that as the correct title has been used (Sir).

YMB, Khan wouldn't have written it - but this isn't about the murderer's motivation - it's about Khan's obfuscation. He's made noises as courtesy demands - but not the right ones. To describe the MP as having 'passed away' is an insult to the victim and to his family. The man was brutally slain - and purposefully. Unlike the case of Floyd, there is no doubt of that.

that is taking things a bit far... i do not think you have any right to take offense on behalf of his family... it does not seem very likely that Sadiq Khan would be out to insult them does it.

But unlike the MP's killer, that policeman didn't go out that morning with the specific intention of killing a particular man - or of killing anyone at all - did he!

I think that's the difference, untitled. While it seems obvious he was brutally murdered... can they actually say that, without a conviction yet? What if it ended up as manslaughter, or something strange? They have to be careful with public words.
