....so lets stop letting the THB drag us down and get on with getting back to normal. No special measures are needed, just get on with it. Yes the link is a few weeks old but there is no reason to believe the data has changed.
//It might go away? Not// No, it won't go away. It will spread and nothing, short of placing the entire population under house arrest will prevent that. Viruses do not go away and the sooner that is accepted the better. Agree that its mainly affecting them but unless we can persuade more to get the second jab it could still cause knock on problems if the numbers in hospital keep rising and it stops resources. Also infections might not be sending most infected to hoptal but the rates still mean many worksplaces and schools have high absense levels which can have knock on effects for teh economy. Its a balance is'nt it
what it doesn't show is the total number of "breakthrough" infections. we know the jabs tend to prevent serious illness, so how many of the double-jabbed are getting reinfected but aren't being counted because they don't go to hospital?
irrelevant mush, that's the whole point of the vaccine, to assist us to get back to normality. For most now covid is no worse than the common cold, no point in counting that.
Not many people die from a common cold, many people die from covid. We must continue to be careful, I, for one would like compulsory masks brought back.
its less relavant but is still relavant if its keeping the virus going by finding hosts who pass it on and if its effecting the economy and education- nephews local schools having a nightmare with teachers off, pupils missing practise mocks and weeks of missed lessons
//Stop testing and deal with it like we do with flu then we can get back to normal.?//
And stop counting the patients and dead bodies.
It might go away? Not
Problem is, the ONS works out the figure for unvaccinated based on the 2011 census and the population figure is out of date.
The difference between fully vaccinated and unvaccinated is a lot nearer using different population data. Both are probably wrong, the true figure is somewhere inbetween.
No, it won't go away. It will spread and nothing, short of placing the entire population under house arrest will prevent that. Viruses do not go away and the sooner that is accepted the better. This ridiculous notion that wearing a piece of damp rag around your face will prevent a virus spreading needs to be done down for what it is - a cynical ploy to make further controls more acceptable. No pandemic has ever been treated like this one and in ten or fifteen years' time the world will look back and wonder why on Earth it was.
I'm double-jabbed and am now Covid free having tested positive a couple of weeks ago. Other than the ball-ache of having to WFH, which I hate, I didn't have any ill-effects at all.
Granted it affects people differently, but for the vast majority of people, at best it's just now a bit of an inconvenience.
Newjudge why do you use emotive nonsence terms like house arrest . you used it before. Anyway would you be happy for infected mates to keep quiet and join you at your table?
// Covid free having tested positive a couple of weeks ago. Other than the ball-ache of having to WFH, which I hate, I didn't have any ill-effects at all.//
can I translate?
"Covid free tested positive weeks ago....... I didn't have any ill-effects at all."
shows walking well can still be infectious - which some people were having real problems understanding on another thread......
