Thanks Bobbs. perhaps no one will read this but I just wanted to say how sorry I feel for the taxi driver and other taxi drivers around the country who are probably feeling very apprehensive of future passengers.
Also, I hope this man will be recognised for his bravery and also the people who ran towards the car to help.

My personal opinion is that the bomb exploded prematurely. I think the bomber was going to set it off inside the hotel. Just a guess, though.

I know I'm only surmising, but I'm convinced the passenger intended to walk from the hospital to the Cathedral and that the bomb would go off there.
Did it have a detonator or was it set to go off at 11am?
The person who made the bomb will have the answer to that.

One theory is that he was going to walk round to the cathedral and detonate the bomb as the congregation were coming out after attending a Remembrance Day service.

I read that he asked the taxi driver to take him to the cathedral but it was busy and they couldn't get through.

There are a lot of discrepancies in the reporting of this incident.
I think it was the mayor/mayoress of Liverpool said the driver locked the passenger in the taxi, but we can see by the video that the driver was still in the taxi when the bomb went off.

You're right, Peter. The man in the yellow jacket went towards the burning car, not knowing if he might be hit by some other explosion. He deserves some commendation.
