Well, it all depends on what kind of form the party took. I very much doubt it was a Sixth form disco. I fully expect there is some kind of activity in No 10 around the clock, so late night taxis are probably a regular occurrence.

unfair, Mozz, Clarion hasn't bleated about the party, he's bleated about the rulebreaking. He (and everyone) was threatened with legal action if he broke the rules, and many got just that. But apparently the rules don't apply in parts of W1.

If And and Dec can laugh at it, I don't see why Clarion can't.

Sorry jno, I just don't think 10CS has any scope to criticise others for not wearing masks, when he's been one of the biggest critics of them on this site. I'm not defending the party, but 10CS is throwing rocks from within a glass house.

somebody was fined £10,000 for holding a party last year iirc. Clarion may well have said this was outrageous, I don't know; but he, like you, me and everyone, would have faced the same penalty if he'd held a party. He has every right to protest at constraints he's been put under that seem not to apply to others. So have we all.

Hopefully there'll be fines if it was a clear breach. This was a place of work though, diffrent from a house party or closed doors pub/restraunt or those secret Jewish and Asian weddings parties for 50-100 disguised as religious events

there seem to have been "several dozen" people at this one, bobb. I don't know that a house party is different from a works party (or a wedding), you're still in enclosed spaces, which I thought was the point of the ban.

But I think I recall someone going for a walk in the country in summer last year and being fined because he stopped at an outdoor coffee stall and got a drink. The restrictions have often been draconian.

Yes but this was a workplace. Our store had up to 200 staff there at times. Some offices had many hundred. Schools had big assemblies and last day of term parties.
Let's wait and see what this was.
If it was a boozy knees up with snogging on the dance floor for hours then yes fine them. If it was a team presentation/ end of year thankyou then it's less clear cut as loads did it all over but it was still dumb or unwise for them to do it as its so open to leaks and mischief

It's easily done. There's been lots of parties going on in the downstairs of my house while I've been sound asleep upstairs. I only found out about them months later.
