Covid Booster
Why are there long queues in many parts of the country of people waiting to get the covid booster
My GP practice sent me a text message to book my booster and flu vaccines .
Then they sent me a reminder
Does it depend on where you live or your age ?

If people aren’t contacted by or don’t wait to be contacted by their clinic (if they are registered even) then they may decide to queue somewhere.
Our clinic has been very impressive.
I phoned them on the Monday after Johnson’s announcement and they explained they they’d be having a meeting to decide how to cope.
Two days later we got an invitation with lots of available slots. We booked and were in and out in no time

I had my booster about a month ago (before Omicron) and there was no queue.
Since then, they have opened up the jab to people of 30 yeRs, and also to people who had their 2nd jab less than 3 months ago.
Result, they cannot cope. Usual Omnishambles from Boris and Javid. Promise the earth, then under deliver.

I could have booked through my gp a month ago. I dithered, then decided to use the walk-in service. I didn't last week due to having a tummy bug, so I went Thursday. Many young people, and I'd say there was a queue of 150, maybe 200. This was just before it opened. Meanwhile as I stood in the queue, I had a text from the surgery reminding me to book an appointment at the clinic they were having this Tuesday. They also phoned me.
