An attempt at transparency and no bones about it. Just like with gay cakes the law will be upheld regardless of cost or sensibilities. I wonder if the x-rays will detect a spine in these invaders.

Channel crossings were 300 per year when Priti Patel became Home Secretary. Now in 3 years they are just short of 30,000.
Is she trying to get in the Guinness Book of Records as the worst Minister ever ?
Surely the time has come for Boris to move her on ?

Gromit I often don’t agree with you but I certainly do with your post
Gromit, so how would you solve the illegal immigrant problem?
I don't agree with Gromit.
Boris shouldn't move her on, he should ship her out!
Preferably in a rubber dingy.

Start by changing the present Home Secretary, this one is useless.
Revert to what we were doing in 2018, when only 299 came.
What were we doing in 2018 ?
haven't read all the posts bobbs - but these asylum seekers must all be dwarves.

Nah, just big hairy 14 year olds JJ ;0)))
Patel was so full of promise when they first came into power, but it has come to absolutely NOTHING with regard to all these economic migrants flooding our shores !! Shame on her ...
None of this is Priti Patel’s doing, as I said before.
What I do condemn her for are her idiotic ideas and grandstanding.
//Migrants who claim to be under 18 receive better housing and support, a more sympathetic hearing in their asylum claim and are less likely to be detained.//

... and get put into the "education system" where they are free to mix with minors. Your children and grandchildren. The devious adults that we are talking about like that very much.
would anyone else do any better then pritel, considering its the laws she has to abide by, perhaps she should be honest and say my hands are tied by international laws we are signed up to, i suppose in an ideal world thye could all be rounded up and shipped back to there home countries by force.
//Revert to what we were doing in 2018, when only 299 came.//

Easy to say but what does it actually mean. In 2018 there werent as many trying this route (or maybe there was but we didnt catch most so did'nt count them or maybe they came in by lorry ). I cant see what we did diffrent then to stop them
Patrol boats parked an agreed short distance from France towing them back the destroying their craft would be a start.

Maybe divert resources from nabbing holiday returnees with 600 fags and two litres of spirits to help out for a while.
//Patrol boats parked an agreed short distance from France towing them back the destroying their craft would be a start...

Agree.... but its the words 'agreed short distance' thats the problem, France seem unlikely to be interested in doing it but would object to us being in there waters... and really it suits them to let these people leave
The reason people use this route is because since 2018 other channels have been restricted
Do you have inside info on current French thinking or are you resorting to stereotyping and putting a wet finger in the air?

Your slightly earlier post suggests you're defeated before anything's tried.
We currently have just 5 patrol vessels to cover hundreds of miles of coastline.
Up that to 50, and less will make it to our shores.
We currently deport less than 2000 failed asylum seekers (when Labour were last in it was nearly 7000).
Send more back. Then 28,400 would ‘t even bother attempting it in the first place.
why not install some giant wave machines like they have at the swimming baths and sent them back.wave goodbye to them as they drift back over to france.
The thing is gromit even if we have 1000 boats patrolling we don't turn them around .... we help them ashore
