Last time we had a crisis, and the Government borrowed £Billions, the electorate ditched them at the next General Election*.

*That time we got most of the money back because the Government bought assets which were later sold and the money recouped (by Osborne), not VIPed to friends to make excessive profits.

I hope so. As PM he'll be best placed to account for his own borrowing, and practically helping millions of us through the Covid crisis with the furlough scheme etc. I'd be very glad to see Rishi as PM. Also be the first Hindu to take that position, so the progressives will no doubt be delighted also.
