I think he wants to pay for his own police protection whilst he is over here
I don’t have a problem with him hiring his own team but that should not be met officers which is what he wants

My understanding now is that he's happy to pay for it but he wants his team to have access to our country's security information and we've said No. This is just while they are here not in their own home.

I've thought of a way round this. If he is met off the plane by a senior royal and is always in the company of a senior royal whilst out and about in the UK he will get state paid protection whether he wants it or not
