...yep just like a lemming.
The woman is a complete lunatic and I feel for NZ citizens. Part of her latest strategy to further her obsession with "eliminating" the virus involves a self-isolation period of up to 24 days (yes, three and a half weeks) for some people:

judge: "The woman is a complete lunatic and I feel for NZ citizens. " - well her intended has had a lucky escape!
Meanwhile, next door in Australia, another welcome is unveiled which will be music to Ms Arden's ears:

tomus, yes but anyone with an ounce of sense could see that it was not going to stay like that. We had to let it sweep through in the end. Fortunately the vaccine was developed in time to cut the damage. Omicron has actually helped enormously.

"Herd immunity" on the sly?
//But for countries like Australia and NZ, Covid is still a comparative stranger...//

Not so much of a stranger to Australia now. They've reported over 1.8m new cases since 1st January. That's getting on for twice as many per million population than the UK.
How many COVID-related deaths has Australia had?
The worst tyrants must be dreading the end of this pandemic.....with good reason.
apparently she thinks politicians should abide by the rules they impose on others. What a quaint idea; no wonder British ABers are baffled by it.
I take back what I said about “posturing” perhaps: as far as Johnson and co goes, I am fairly sure they’d have done the same - pretty hard not to cancel your wedding without everyone noticing.
It’s the other stuff :-)
