//Boris was floundering. He looked desperate. A man drowning in the mire of his own making. //
Come off it, Gromit. Even Laura Kuenssberg - not Boris's greatest fan - said he came out fighting.

World of difference between coming out fighting and looking like a champion
The chumpion will be gone shortly

Boris isn’t going to resign because he has an uncomfortable PMQs.
As far as Labour are concerned, the session is about giving Boris enough rope to hang himself. Kicking the PM while he is down and giving him a mauling would be counter productive and may even make the public a bit sympathetic.
Better to ask him a straight question about breaking lockdown, let him not attempt to answer, and let the viewers/electorate decide.
Labour were never going to inflict any killer blows at PMQs. They just needed to keep the heat on, and they did.

Labour could have been a lot stronger all along though Gromit. They (an opposition) will never remove a PM with a massive majority but they can hold the ruling party to account (even if jno doesn't think they should).
Unfortunately they haven't and Johnson has got away with loads of faux pars - and is still getting away with it.
But what you say about sitting back now and letting him hang himself and so not alienating some of the population could be the tactic. Sir Kier is a brief and thats a common tactic, besides Cummings always advocated kicking a man when he is down and I am sure he will continue to do so.
