Bombs Away with Curtis E Lemay - was a catch phrase during the War ( Viet name War silly) because he had overseen the flattening of Japan in 1945. They ran out of cities to bomb apparently ( and raze). He was chosen as George Wallace's running mate ( for president silly). (Not a nice person but too much detail for AB) and HE was the one that threatened to bomb North Vietnam back into the stone age - and would NOT rule out tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield

I'm simply pointing out that outside of the UK bubble, while dealing with real issues, the world looks on in amazement at a country tearing itself to shreds over birthday cake, wallpaper & the odd bottle of vino.
