Unfortunately you only have half the story on this one.
Most of it will depend on whether you think the man at the top should be accountable, something Sir Kier has levelled at Johnson. So by Sir Kiers reasoning he should be culpable for not prosecuting JS.
In addition, its quite an admission to say, as DPP, you were not aware that one of the most prominent men in the country was being interviewed for alleged kiddie fiddling. Does anyone really believe that?
