I think if it was in any other circumstance Labour would claim it but because David Amess was murdered the people will honour him by electing a tory again.
I read the other day (and the link reflects it) that out of respect the main parties were not forwarding candidates so it would appear to be a done deal
Given that Labour, LibDems and Greens have not put forward a candidate, coupled with the apparent affection people had for David Amess, the result is surely a foregone conclusion.
Don’t think Labour and the LibDems are fielding acandidate. Certainly haven’t named one so far. They might just not electioneer there.
When Jo Cox was murdered the opposition parties didn’t contest Batley ( Farages UKIP did).
Natural justice is that the seat will/should remain Tory.
Labour LibDems and the Greens are not standing out of respect.
Worth noting the Parties with no respect that are standing.
