Roobaba, why are you shouting?
// Please refrain from adding emphasis in CAPITAL LETTERS as this indicates shouting and is considered rude.//
I think he's upset, danny.
so what do you suggest?
Don’t fear - Moggy will sort it all out.
And, as the link points out, we haven't even got to the import controls bit yet.

There is indeed, no need to shout.
It was obvious it would cause problems such as this. But that's no reason why we should not have left.
NJ; sorry to bother you at this time of the morning, but could you perhaps telll us any tangible benefits so far, or if not, any in the near future? I need cheering up! :-)
these remoaners make me laugh! Of course there was always going to be admin issues! Do you think those that voted for brexit where unaware? ....or perhaps that they never would have done so if they where?
Agree with NJ. There were bound to be teething problems which are compounded by the EU's displeasure at us leaving,It will take time but these problems will eventually be sorted.
NJ

Is it because it was so obvious, that no one thought to mention it before 23rd June 2016 ? ;-)
Gromit, yes it was so obvious that it didn't need mentioning.
gromit: 10:26, I'm pretty sure project fear had a section on this. What the 5Cs fail to comprehend is that none of the things you tried to scare us with bothered us, we accept that the price of wresting back our sovereignty would be things like this.
Gromit.// one thought to mention it before 23rd June 2016 ? ;-)//
At that time no one could have envisaged how obstructive the EU would be.

If they couldn't they weren't listening to Mr Juncker who said in 2016, 'Leave the EU and we’ll make your lives a misery'.

The only thing that surprises me is that anyone would want to be part of such an organisation.

Having read NJ’s previous Brexit posts though it’s obvious (I think) that he’s not a big cheerleader for some of the benefits many touted for leaving the EU.
If you think that the EU as an ever closer political and economy block is not a void thing then plainly you’ll not be as bothered by the teething problems as you see them.
It is interesting now however to hear what was originally blasted as “Project Fear” being greeted with a shrug as “Well of course we knew this all along”
//NJ; sorry to bother you at this time of the morning, but could you perhaps telll us any tangible benefits so far, or if not, any in the near future? I need cheering up! :-)//

We’ve done this once or twice before. It’s not what we’ve done (or will do), it’s what we can do without reference to an unelected supranational body.

// Is it because it was so obvious, that no one thought to mention it before 23rd June 2016 ? ;-)//

I think one or two people did (plenty of sources are available). The fact is that even with these difficulties highlighted (ad nauseum) over 17m people wanted out. There is simply no point going on about this. It’s done; we’ve left. Instead of being pragmatic the EU (entirely predictably) will make it as unpleasant as possible in order to discourage any other members from doing the same. You must ask yourself, why would you want to belong to a club which treats one of its most prominent former members (and one of the largest contributors to its coffers) with such contempt?

//At that time no one could have envisaged how obstructive the EU would be.//

I think it was almost guaranteed, Danny. They could not understand why we wanted to leave and that was the basis of the whole problem. The EU doesn’t engage with either its members or its trading partners. It dictates terms. If you want an example of this, look up how the “negotiations” are going between the EU and Switzerland. Switzerland currently operates on the basis of a number of bilateral agreements with the EU. This doesn’t suit the EU and the negotiations, such as they are, have developed in disagreement, rancour and threats. That’s how the EU conducts its business with its “partners.”
//Having read NJ’s previous Brexit posts though it’s obvious (I think) that he’s not a big cheerleader for some of the benefits many touted for leaving the EU.//

You're correct, Ikky. As I've said, I don't care what the benefits or disadvantages to EU membership are or what problems leaving will cause. I have wanted the UK to leave for thirty years. A country does not sell its soul just because keeping it is a bit tricky.

// I'm pretty sure project fear had a section on this. //

So they were right.
I think that referring to the 48% of the population who voted remain as fifth columnists is a ridiculous and shameful thing to do. But then shame doesn't seem to exist with the current goverment.
