Hypocrisy Or A Simpler Explanation?

Yesterday the Daily Mail published a story where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced their support for the people of Ukraine. It got overwhelming positive responses from Mail commentators.

Today they published a very similar story where Harry and Meghan pay tribute to the people of the Ukraine which garnered overwhelmingly negative responses.

So far, so typical...

But now if you look at yesterday's article on the Cambridges all the comments have disappeared!

Why would the Daily Mail do this?

It had about 3,500 when I looked at it this morning.

I am not sure if the responses are there or not, since that was your actual OP.

In terms of responses, I think that Harry and Meghan have largely created their own negative image, in the same way that William and Kate have done the opposite.

I think you’re partly right. I don’t think they’ve created their own negative responses - I suspect it’s been done on their behalf. This isn’t the first time the Cambridges have essentially done exactly the same as H&W but been fawned over, rather than castigated.

If you are referring to Harry and Meghan having their negative image 'created on their behalf', i cannot agree.

They appear to spend their entire time seeking out opportunities to appear in the media - Oprah being a prime example - and there to endlessly spout their utterly vacuous New Age Woke piffle to what they imagine is an adoring world hanging on their every meaningless pointless utterance.

Compare that with William and Kate who give no interviews whatsoever, and occasionally allow themselves to be quoted briefly about issues that matter to them.

Proving that 'less is more' was never so perfectly demonstrated by the difference in the two couples' approaches to the wider world.

And I can't think of a single other interview they've given.

I read the Mail sometimes but M&H couldn't "annoy" me however hard they tried. They are just irrelevant.

I must confess that until I read your post your intellectual superiority had escaped me and I'm not sure who 'the like' you refer to are, but speaking as one who doesn’t read the Mail, if they're people who despise selfish, self-promoting liars who care nothing about the hurt they cause others, then you may count me among them.
