If the British voters made the other decision ... nothing much would have happened. If the Ukrainian people make the wrong decision ... they will die, their families will die, their children will die. They will die in the most horrific way. Some people on this thread are making political capital out of what they think (and hoped) Johnson said, rather than what he actually said. If they don’t ‘get it’ they’re wilfully not getting it to form their own narrative.
The reporting by The Guardian is typically poor - although that really doesn’t surprise me.

> Boris Johnson has morals, he just doesn't always apply them
He does, he has no choice. In his position, morals are always in play ... he can't choose not to apply them, it's not his choice to make. If he's not applying one set of morals ("his"), he's applying another (whose?). By definition, the morals he's applying are his morals. He's the leader!

To try to score Brexity points by making any comparison between the decisions facing these two groups of people is a national embarrassment. It tells the world that the British people (who have chosen to have this person in charge) are utterly lacking in tact, dignity, compassion, and diplomatic awareness.
And it is no good to say "oh, this is all he meant, it's all been taken out of context". The world does not read his mind. The world only hears his words.
We should be deeply ashamed.

The British people voted for change. The Ukrainians didn't want change. They are not like us.
See what I did there? You can twist any position to suit your means, if you find the right angle. When you do it for political gain, as Boris did, and especially when people are dying for you to make your faulty analogy ... chooses his words carefully to avoid another deletion ... it's odorous.
