Little girl aged 5 - killed by hit & run driver.......
.....she was on her way home from a school Christmas party, bless her.
If the driver was aware that they'd knocked over a little girl (or anyone else for that matter), then drove on, how can they live with themselves.
I was in tears just watching the news - so how must a person feel when they've actually killed someone?

So when the person sees the news and hears what happened, I hope that they realise that just because they got home a bit quicker that night, a family in the neighbourhood are distraught.
The family must be going through hell, esp at this time of year. Thoughts and prayers go out to them.
I hope they catch the driver, but in this harsh reality the punishment will be minor.
Oh god, I just read the story on the bbc site. They were on the fricking pavement!!!! They abandoned the car there, and 2 men fled the scene.
This is when you hope that their friends etc realise whats happened, and call the police. Its not "grassing up" - these 2 morons have committed murder, and should be made an example of.
What a terrible tragedy for all the family. Not only was the little girl killed instantly, her Mother is still in intensive care.
They were all so happy & on their way home from a Christmas play (not a party as the news read last night) in which her Father took part.
Apparantly one man's been arrested, but if he's found guilty, he'll probably get off with a slapped wrist!
Thank God, we are not all as despicable as those creatures. They will be caught, but what punishment can bring back her young life.
I do feel that I must point out that "some scumbag lawyer doing their best to get them off" is not the case.
In English law, representation by a criminal lawyer is a basic right of any defendant in any case. They are obliged to defend a defendant even if their defence is ridiuculous.
In Eastenders recently Sam's solicitor stated "I'm a criminal lawyer Peggy, not a miracle worker".
Many criminal lawyers know that they are unlikely to overturn a conviction even before the case starts.
