And when you get Boris calling Putin devious, its never going to fit well. Like I've said before, there are little white lies and very big ones, then you have continual lies. But they are still lies and a road to trouble.
Does a Prime Minister have to be virtuous, honest, upright, and a jolly good person to run the country? His duties do not include not fibbing now and then. He is obliged to choose ministers who can run their departments properly, and the occasional lapse - as in Boris's case - does not detract from the essential element of a Prime Minister's duty, which is to run the country properly.
Boris has his faults but thank goodness he is not evil and sadistic like Putin.

Yes, as far as I'm concerned, otherwise there's no trust in him.
When a PM breaks the law along with many more in government, that gives the go ahead for everyone else to do also. Good luck to him and his government at implementing any future lock down, or any other new laws for that matter.
Granted we don’t know all the ins and outs, but IF as has been suggested the fine wasfor an impromptu party he knew nothing about, and arranged by people he was working with, there was no booze involved, the party lasted for 10 mins, and the bloody cake never even made it from the Tupperware, then he should have refused to pay.

I fail to see any difference with nurses having a cup of tea and a slice of cake with people they work with.

Are they going to receive fines? If not, why not?

1. The met know all the ins and outs. Hence fine.
2. Tea, Wine, big difference
3. Nurses / doctors. PM Big difference, the latter being a law maker.
Yawn! I thought you Labour luvvies wanted to win the next election? Well, if you think the PM is a liability then you should be doing everything to keep him in office to give Rodders the best chance of winning. Or is a quick bauble more to your liking?
doesn't really matter Labour will not get their first win for half a century anyway!
Admittedly I know very little about English politics, but are there only two parties in England?
can one of you lot give me an example of a porky that Boris has told. I've been asking all week still no one seems able to dig out an example.
17:08, it's UK politics, Boris is your PM too. surprised you know so little about the country and party that rules over you.

There's the libdems as well, so yes only two parties.
Personally I dont think Boris Johnson is a fit person to be managing a sex shop
Sandra at 4.55pm.

Your point 2 - is it though? Really?

Your point 3 - that doesn't really stand up to much scrutiny.

I'm not being deliberately obtuse - I just genuinely don't see the difference.

It appears to me....

Nurses having a cup of tea at work and a slice of cake with people they work with - OK.

The PM having a cup of tea at work and a slice of cake with people he works with - Not OK.

I honestly don't get what he's done wrong IF what he's done is as reported.

I'm not a "fanboy", as Gromit oh so wittily (he thinks) keeps on saying, in fact, I'm far from a fan of Boris, but in this particular instance I just don't see what he's done wrong.

17.19, and dont forget ´The raving loony party´.
I think i have stated this before, but you lot down in England are lucky. You have only one nationalist neep-heid to deal with,we have two nationalist neep-heids to deal with up here in Scotland-Bojo and Wee Burney.A double whammy of heidies, all to the detriment of my beloved Scotland.Damn them both to hell.
I'm with Desk Diary on this. And why would alcohol make it a party but not a cup of tea. I wonder how many PM's have broken laws! Total storm in a teacup whipped up by the media and I bet the police think the same. But they had to act to placate the people!
