"Let me also say, not by way of mitigation or excuse, but purely because it explains my previous words in this House, that it did not occur to me then or subsequently, that a gathering in the Cabinet Room just before a vital meeting on COVID strategy could amount to a breach of the rules. I repeat that was my mistake and I apologise for it unreservedly."

gromit: "Bookmarked. " - wager too? I'm game or has the bottle gone? Assuming it was ever there of course! The problem you lefties have is that you cannot comprehend why you haven't won for 50 years and why the Tories will win again next time. Once you work that out your never ending stream of drivel may dry up.
Tora,
No, I will not gamble with you.
But I do notice you have changed your bet.
For months you have been saying the Tories will win the election, but not that Boris (as PM) will win.
Now as Boris is arguably getting deeper in the mire, you are backing him (not someone else) to win the next election. A long odds bet?

20.58. ‘Human concerns’ my eye! The spiteful OP says it all. Little people revelling, as usual, in anything they think they can get their cheap, plastic wellies into - and all led by the venom of a lily-livered ‘yes’ man who, in his futile bid for popularity doesn’t have the gumption to admit that he knows the difference between a man and a woman. Some day you might get exactly what you deserve - and then you’ll have something to whine about. Pathetic all.
Naomi 22:52;
I am rather shocked by your uncharacteristic shrill and aggressive tone. If your post was addressed at me, then I think you're off-target in that I don't think I've ever expressed support for Keir Starmer (I presume it was him you referred to as lily-livered yes-man). As for you reference to "Little people revelling, as usual, in anything they think they can get their cheap, plastic wellies into", I think you're a little over the top and not like your ususal self.

gromit: "Tora,
My (ever changing view is):
- Boris gone before the next election
- Tories win with a small or no majority. "
no, Boris is not certain to fight the next election but still favourite. The tories are certain to form the government after.
Perhaps you can help me understand something. If you and the rest of the labouristas think that Boris is bad enough to resign why would you want him to? Surely your best chance in 2024 is with Boris at the helm? Do you favour a quick appetiser over the feast? Surely if winning power is the aim you should be doing everything to keep Boris in charge.

If I was standing in the upcoming local elections (for a party other than the Tories), my election flyer would consist only of a list of lies as told by Boris Johnson – it would probably need to be A3, printed double sided, using a 10 point font.
I would not bother listing any of my policies or achievements (if I were an incumbent councillor) – I would expect to win the election by a landslide.

Tora,
I would love (genuinely) for someone to run the country better than Boris in the immediate future.
But that is not going to happen.
You constantly frame me as a Labour supporter, and I am not. I am not impressed by Starmer (or the Libdems).
But I would dearly like Johnson (and his failed ministers) to go asap. Before a GP would suit me fine, but befotpre that would be a bonys.
