Donkey: 'Whilst not a criminal matter it is certainly morally reprehensible in the present economic crisis'. So you think it's wrong to have money?
Not in the slightest.
But why does a young lady billionaire feel the need to avoid tax whilst millions of her population live in abject poverty?
I say that because she’s a non-dom is she not, so I’m supposing she still deems herself as Indian?
As I said, pure greed, nothing less.

Typical lefty envy, I bet she pays a thousand times more than you or me in vat/duty etc. Then she has staff and pays them and they pay tax on that. Just think beyond your default, "must punish rich b'stards", attitude. She avoided the silly direct tax legally, I'm sad she volunteered to pay it just to appease the brainless masses.

If DH had it he would be pleased to give it away.
Again, if I was a multi billionaire I’d be giving away tens of millions in charity donations.
What would I have to spend it on? In any sphere I’m going to be more than comfortable for the rest of my life.
Unless you can guarantee eternal life then what is the point of infinite wealth? Far better and kinder to leave a lasting legacy by using the money for the benefit of others, not avoiding tax in a scurrilous manner during a cost of living crisis for sure.
Bill Gates gives away millions to charities and medical research.
Imagine if the Chancellor’s wife did the same? Look at how that might have enhanced their reputation instead of tarnishing it?
Seems Sunak was happy to give some to his old school though, he was happy to give that away, why wouldn’t I do the same if I were a billionaire like his wife?
Or are you conveniently forgetting that too?

For all we know she may be giving millions away to charitable causes.
Indeed she may, but either way it doesn’t make you out to look very charitable if you’re already dodging tax over spurious reasons, does it?
As I said to naomi24, it’s odd that she questions if I would give any away if I were in her position but she has no problem with Chancellor Sunak doing it?
She’s arguing for arguments sake, as is ToraToraTora who no doubt couldn’t it wouldn’t answer the question either if I posed it to him.

// Perfectly legal and therefore morality doesn’t come into it.//
er - er ( that is a klaxon )
moral choices are all about actions which are legal
and there are all sort of things that are legal and immoral
why - lying to save your skin, saying you werent drinking with your frenz when you were
both spring to mind - - I am not sure why

// I'd rather choose what to give it to than have a government do it.//
we are just reploughing covered ground
Maggie ( you know TGL) tried that and found.....it didnt work
as for paying more tax...
HH Asquith assigned 1/6 of his fortune ( loo-lah to you lot) to the Treasury ( who ever was Rishi Sunak, to you lot)
and thought others wd do so
and - -- - - they didnt

DH, //naomi24 went strangely quiet after I pointed out the Sunak example.
Why would that be?//
That would be because Naomi24 wasn't on here much at the weekend; she didn't see your meanderings about Sunak and she was unaware that you expected a response from her on this topic - so apologies for keeping you waiting. Now I am here I can only say that you have no idea what other people do with their money - and frankly it's none of your business anyway. Yours are the politics of envy.
