We have a health minister to oversee the NHS. There are too many campaigns urging people to eat this, don't eat that, drink this, don't drink that. People need to be left alone, they don't need to be nannied from cradle to grave.
I'm off out for a nice meal tonight. I might have grilled fish, I might have a fillet steak. I don't know yet. What I do know is that I don't want anybody in government "advising" me what and how much I should eat and drink. I certainly don't want them controlling the price that retailers charge for their goods simply to "encourage" my eating habits to align with their perceived best practice. They could make fruit and vegetables free of charge but if people want to eat Greggs' sausage rolls every day they will.
