They are mostly Franchises anyway, they'll just be dropping "McDonalds" as a name.

They're not mostly franchises. The company actually owns 81% of the McDonalds restaurants in Russia.

Don't you? Regardless of what one thinks about their product it's one of the most well known brands in the world - this will be far more visible to ordinary Russians than any seizing of superyachts.

There are long queues outside McDonalds in Russia right now as people want to get one last Big Mac before their country loses another tie with the rest of the world.

Correct and I was wrong - the queues were for before they shut in March. I think my point still stands though about the popularity of this brand in Russia.
