good move for the provision of "safe" spaces for women? or a retrograde step in the general move toward inclusivity?

I like the toilets that are single cubicles with sinks that open directly on to the main thoroughfare. These toilets can be used by anyone and are safe. Of course there has to be no risk of the door opening accidentally.
To be frank, though, men who are hell bent on attacking women in public toilets are not going to be put off by a 'women only' sign.
If you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be sweet and lift the seat
We're getting gender-neutral toilets in our new building and so many women complained about it when we had a Teams overview of it. It was explained that each toilet would be completely private with floor to ceiling doors, a wash basin, sanitary disposal bins etc. I didn't have a problem with it but those that did said they would take it to the PCS. The thing is that PCS would already have been consulted and had it signed off at planning stage.
Single sex toilets make it very difficult for people who are out and about with a child of the opposite sex, say a 6 year old.
no Barry, 6 y olds have always weed(*) - and their flustered mums histle them into a cubicle in the ladies'

(*)I read this in a book once I think

Hmm yes ! ( PP waggles head and bulges eyes like Judge Judy) I wonder if they have single sex toilets in the Carlton Club and whether it did any good
PP, it can be tricky when I am in sole charge of my grand-daughters, just as it was all those years ago when I took my daughters swimming when they were little.
They USED to ask a passing leddy to take her in....
I never did.
I agree, Barry. My son is 12 and absolutely hates going into men's public loos so we always end up using the disabled ones. He's too old now for me to take him into the ladies.
Totally agree with this, common sense as far as I'm concerned.
Big rows looming about leaving the seat up LOL
i cant read the article cause it's paywalled but how the heck are offices public spaces?
Will these cubicles be soundproofed and equipped with extractor fans?
One wouldn't want to offend anyone with delicate sensibilities.
Public buildings are usually libraries and town halls surely?

Nope. You’re quite a few short.

Some of you seem to have misunderstood the report. Single sex toilets to be compulsory, that means male toilets and female toilets, not one set of toilets for all
Disgusting, why oh why is everyone pandering to a tiny vocal minority, what are they frightened of? Get a grip and tell em where to get off.
I said that on page 1 Barry but some are still misinterpreting it...
The answer is quite simple. Ladies (no bits) Gents & mixed. That way not only are the non standard gender people catered for but also those with their kids/grandkids.

"Some of you seem to have misunderstood the report".

Here is a proper one most people can read in full (although not sure how "single sex" from the Indy one can be misunderstood, but there you go)

I don't think I have even seen a "same sex" toilet with urinals, but maybe I have led a sheltered life.
