Regardless, in light of what the government are currently doing with the Brexit deal and how Brexit is panning out doesn’t it make all previous stances and predictions null and void?

What’s to debate? It’s meaningless unless he gets into power, which I doubt. He may head a coalition government, in which case the whole thing will have to be revised.

It is a cunning shift from Starmer.
Labour will get Brexit done right, not this mess from Johnson. The people who voted for Brexit want it to succeed, so might be persuaded to vote Labour. Those who think Johnson has made a mess of it, won’t vote for more of the same. The Europhiles in Labour will not be happy, but they will be happy if Labour starts to win by election/elections again.
