From Sky News.
Johnson appears before the liaison committee.

The Liaison Committee has started
Boris Johnson is being quizzed by the committee, which is made up of the chairs of Commons committees.
One of the main topics is "integrity in politics".
But chair of the Liaison Committee Sir Bernard Jenkin has said they will address integrity in politics at the end of the session.
He warns if the PM has long answers they will simply detain him longer.

He’s in for a torrid afternoon.
Meanwhile, Gove wants him gone.

It’s actually funny now watching him putting himself through such self-flagellation and public ridicule.
He must be an Uber-masochist who would make even King Canute blush.

Johnson is not as bad as Trump... he's not a fascist or I don't think so anyway... He is an entitled child of privilege who believes he has every right to power and every right to abuse it in order to indulge his appetites... Lazy, directionless, probably drunk/drugged, incompetent, deceitful... this is the person that tories gleefully foisted on the rest of...

in the fond hope that he'd keep it perhaps.

From ITV: "Sources tell me that senior Cabinet ministers want to say to PM - it is not about loyalty- it’s that 3 govt departments now don’t have ministers so functioning govt no longer tenable- plus its now tsunami of confidence letters!"

So it's going to take a while to get the government on its feet again. Presumably Zahawi will have a few days' grace before Raab (or other successor) decides to keep him, bring back Sunak, disinter Maynard Keynes, or whatever.
No I thought his Latin joke was misjudged
Hope he goes... although it's better for labour if he stays....and of course gullivwr will clIm credit

Dorries just seen going into Number 10.
Maybe she’s helping Carrie to pack?

nah, she and Priti had a bridge date.
Respect to Nadhim for straight talking
Newsnight tweet: Just asked ally of cabinet minister who is in No 10 calling on PM to go what would happen if he refuses. “Then Boris Johnson won’t have a cabinet,” came the swift reply
they're all straight talking now, Hopkirk. They weren't yesterday. My respect goes to the two who stood up yesterday and said "Enough is enough" rather than the people who took their jobs before changing their tune.

Apparently he’s just snuck in the back door, dodging the press waiting outside the front door.
I’ll expect a lectern and microphones outside by 21.00 at the latest.
Priti Patel I’d liken to the apostate of Satan in The Omen. She owes it all to Johnson and will die to save him.
Nadine is there to carry the coffin
I wonder if he'll cry, like Mrs Thatcher did.

As she’s the minister for media, maybe Dorries is there to get the crayons out and help him with his resignation letter?

No, but I reckon Carrie will be shedding a tear as she gazes forlornly at that £840 a roll wallpaper.
I am delighted that this odious pig of a man will... hopefully... no longer be the prime minister of this country.

nobody who has come to his defence after the Chris Pincher affair has any integrity or morality.
Itch you're here
what does Khokhly mean in Russian?
Ukrainians bombed it anyway
I punted at 'frenz'

god isnt it awful when the clingers cling on?
Beeb marxists trying not to be triumphant
Yeah Carrie cd show off the front room with expensive wall paper as

"la boudoir de six heures" - - oh - - or salle a partir
I am concerned that some of these tories who have suddenly discovered that they have a conscience will be allowed to disassociate themselves from this government... i hope people won't forget but they probably will!

Certainly not me. There are some decent Tories, that’s undeniable but as I’ve often said any of his cabinet are already besmirched with the Johnson stain, they’ve sold their souls, self respect and defended the indefensible on a weekly if not daily basis in the face of public incredulity and scorn.
Their sycophantic and dreadfully misguided loyalty to Johnson will forever haunt their political futures, it’ll forever be a stick to beat them with.
Total clearout required and only the 148 who voted against him recently ought to be considered for any government job.
This government is so mired in controversy that the whole cabinet needs replacing, nothing less.
Zahawi TellsJohnson to feck off less than 24 hours after being appointed.
You can’t make it up :-)
