Why Do The Poltroons Clamour To Get Boris Out Immediately?
59 Answers
He's resigned you got your way. Every resigning PM in history has stayed until a successor is chosen. It is constitutionally very difficult to do anything else as I have explained about a dozen times on various posts. So why is this resignation any different to say Blair? Cameron? May? They were afforded the dignified path. Why do they want to keep putting the boot in? You won, you got your scalp, take the win and move on.

YMF, the question about wife-beating was meant to echo the OP which implied that people wanting Boris to go promptly were poltroons (i.e. cowards). My wife-beating question was meant to demonstrate that a so-called question can contain assumptions which make the question imossible to answer with a simple yes or no.
YMB - // //Have you stopped beating your wife yet ?//
What a strange thing to say, why would you even think of saying that on this thread.
Unless of course you beat your wives. //
It's a famous version of an 'unanswerable question' - the theory being that the respondent cannot reply without putting his reputation at risk, either by saying that he doesn't beat his wife, suggesting that he did once, but does no longer, or any form of agreement, which suggests that he still does.
It doesn't actually fit in this context.

//"We didn’t get ‘our way’, he was forced out by fellow Conservatives, or as you’re fond of asking, ‘are you too thick to understand that’? " - so Labour didn't want him out then? Read between the lines genius.//
EVERYONE wanted him out, genius. Conservatives, Labour, Lib Dems, SNP and Greens.
What you cannot abide is that so many Tories wanted him gone, they’d finally realised that he was toxic, never fit for purpose, lying, evasive, divisive and tried to cover his tracks after knowing about but subsequently still appointing a renowned predatory sex pest into high office. So many respected former prime ministers and cabinet members from previous Tory governments wanted him ousted too.
We know that you hero-worship him, which actually reflects on you, your outlook, demeanour, character and ideals.
We all know you for who and what you are, aligning yourself with such an egregious character just confirms it.

why did we want him out pronto?
his government was rocked by the Vassall and Profumo scandals, which to cultural conservatives and supporters of opposing parties alike seemed to symbolise moral decay of the British establishment.
Macmillan 1962
same now...
AND
come on babies, "have you stopped beating your wife yet?"
is a trope ( thing larger than it is in words) ( wot dat den)

I answered the OP when you asked it on another thread, TTT. My answer was ignored ...
For a lot of Tories, and most of everybody else, it's completely unacceptable that the man who's been forced to resign against his will by his own party, because he's unfit for office, is planning to stay in that office, that's he's unfit for, for months more. Every further day that he's in that role does more damage to our country

And I also posted this, again ignored ...
> that's what has happened every time in history, why is this any different?
Because the reason he's going is that he's not fit for office. He's a liar. His morals and ethics are not up to the job. He's in it for himself more than the country or even his party. Give him a few more months and who knows what will happen? If you want what's best for the country, we need a safer pair of hands on the tiller. Somebody with a lot of gravitas who has no interest in running for the leader. The wild days of recent times have to be over, not continuing for months more, which they will if Boris remains. The press is not going to settle down and go quiet. More and more stuff will be unearthed. It needs to stop.

"He's resigned you got your way"?
It was a coup because he closest colleagues got fed of lying for him then getting dobbed on. Raaaab said Bozo had told him knew nothing of Pincher's sexual proclivities then it was revealed Boris had been briefed and even joked about it. You can only hold your nose in the cesspit for so long.
