She can hope.
The video reflects the approach she's taking. She's not mentioned until the very end. Less about the leader, more about the ship ... which given her Navy history is a good tagline, and it's the opposite of Boris's personality culture.
I wonder if a starting point might be not calling her Penny like she's that wee lass who works in accounts and is your bezzie mate.

Being on first name terms with the current incumbent hasn't gone all that well after all.
Penny M? For Funks Sake. NO.
That video would no doubt appeal greatly to ttt and the pub landlord. I can see them both as they watch it, stood almost to attention, stomachs in(ish), chests out, one tissue-loaded hand wiping a jingoistic tear running down their cheeks.
Ellipsis, Boris's personality culture is what won their stonking great majority. I doubt very much that anyone in the running now has the slightest hope of replicating it.
The trouble is, Naomi, that you think of nothing but your need for the Tory party to win elections, regardless of whether or not they would be good for the country. Some tories here not only have the insight to recognise problems with the current lot, but also the moral backbone and honesty to admit it.
Integrity trumps personality ...
I was hoping that Mourdant's inclusion would have lengthened Sunak's odds a tad. It's had the opposite effect and he has now been shortened to 13/8:-(

Atheist, you know nothing about me so you make it up as you go along. Do me a favour and stop putting me in the stocks! These personal attacks are becoming tedious.

Ellipsis, there is no doubt whatsoever that the electorate voted for Boris. Watch and see what happens with the next one. I suspect there will be a lot of new blue seats turning red again - with perhaps a little dash of yellow..
^
IMHO, many of those red seats turned blue mainly because of Brexit and also partly because of Corbyn, Naomi. Burnley elected it's first Tory MP in over a century for those two reasons, as, i suspect, did many a northern town.
//there is no doubt whatsoever that the electorate voted for Boris//

Yes, there is. There are 10s of millions of people who can vote in a General Election; the Tory leader is voted for by hundreds of thousands of people. In all my years of voting I have never been given the option to choose a PM. It is completely erroneous to say that the electorate voted for Boris in fact every person I know personally who voted Tory at the last election voted Tory despite Boris.
Atheist, It looks like you've become a personal attacker now, just because you've made a good point :0)
// the Tory leader is voted for by hundreds of thousands of people. //

Nope. Nearer 60,000ish.

(They won’t tell anyone their membership number).
Indeed, I agree, Ken - but it was Boris who led the charge. I seriously don't believe any other Conservative politician, on the same agenda, would have achieved anything like the support he rallied - and I seriously don't believe we're likely to see its like again. The Conservative government has, in my opinion, made the biggest mistake of its life - and it will live to regret it.
Oh god. :0))))
Gromit - I thought I saw 180,000 quoted somewhere but I might well be wrong. The bottom line is that only Tory party members vote for the leader not the whole electorate.
bhg481, // In all my years of voting I have never been given the option to choose a PM. //

Nor me.

//It is completely erroneous to say that the electorate voted for Boris in fact every person I know personally who voted Tory at the last election voted Tory despite Boris. //

On that we'll have to agree to differ ... perhaps we just move in different circles.
//Oh god. :0)))) //

Save my post and wait and see if I'm right, pimply ... and then get smart.
they claimed 200,000 members in March 2021; it may have dipped since then
