Whenever there's a battle for becoming PM from either parties, the main tool in the box always seems to be Tax cuts.
Unless I've missed it, I've not heard anyone yet mention the awful state the NHS is in at the moment. More importantly the number of people that must be suffering because they can't get treatment anytime soon.
So my priority would be the NHS.
You all but a few missing my point. I'm putting NHS for my priority, not climate change. Only (we) can put the NHS right, we can't put climate change right on our own.
It has to be, Pimplyteen.
British politics is in the gutter, we have to see an end to cronyism, nepotism and must see transparency, honesty and accountability.
No more peerages given by PM’s etc, thst should be from an independent body.
I want to see the ministerial code restored, deemed sacrosanct and rigidly stringent, any deviation or flouting is instant dismissal, not resignation.
Got to start from day one and go from the ground up.
Fighting climate change always seem to involve increasing taxes so I don't care about it at the moment, either the whole world acts together or don't bother.
That promise would never sway me, Dave. I think a lot of people are making a lot of money out of climate change without actually giving a hoot about it.
Naomi; Who is making money out of climate change? And if there are any, how do you know that they don't believe in it? You're doing what you accused me of doing - making stuff up about other people's inner thoughts. I'd really like a decent answer, not just the traditional slap in the face.
1) Halve the NHS budget and remove 20 layers of management, get it run by proper management.
2) abolish all the devolved talking shops
3) abolish all local authorities, replace with a management team to carry out the functions there of.
4) Half the commons and double their wages, abolish all not gov business expenses
5) Abolish the house of lords, replace with a 100 person elected alternative.
6) Quadruple the defence budget and get our forces where they should be.
7) Trawl the civil service for duplication of effort and slim down as far as possible.
8) Reduce the public sector to as small as possible.
Naomi; I don't think that you do think. You simply express unsupported opinions. You can't hide your assertions behnd a screen of "Oh, they are simply my thoughts". If you express opinions you should be able to suport them with evidence or logic.
Atheist, I’ll post as I see fit, but that said, you’d be well served to take your own advice. All I see from you is criticism - and worse - of those you disagree with.
Atheist, Do you really not know what you say? How often do you mention the word ‘racist’ in relation to the people here? You did it again only this afternoon. You need to get the plank out of your own eye before criticising anyone else. Your faults are many.
And putting the NHS right would include, not having ambulances waiting outside A&E because there's no beds because people can't be moved into rehab or supported units because "efficiency cuts" closed them down and the staff that might support old and vulnerable people in their own homes have been cut?
Atheist, the righties on here have been hurting all week and character assassination of anyone on AB not concurring with their views is very much in the firing line.
They’re lashing out blindly at all and sundry whilst vehemently disagreeing with each other, it’ll blow over soon.
We cant keep spending, the national debt at the end of 21 was £2,382.8 billion, we cant ignore that and the interest is strangling the country. We need to live within our means, get people into work and not paying layabouts to sit at home doing nothing with often fake ailments.
paigntonian: "Halve the NHS budget' Tora. Barking. " - the NHS needs running on proper efficient business principles. Huge swathes of cash are wasted by fraud and inefficiency.
