OK, it's only a poll but would show a trend.

So, in the top five we have:
Penny Mordaunt, 19.6%
Kemi Badenoch, 18.68
Rishi Sunak, 12.11
Suella Braverman, 11.05
Liz Truss,10.93.

Well, my favourites out of those would be Suella and Kemi, both proper Conservatives IMHO. Penny would have been great but for the fact, like Sir Kier, she doesnt know what a woman is so its a big red flag for me that one. Rishi was a favourite of mine but with those taxes I'm not in agreement with his direction.

Thoughts?

Ymb,
It is a ‘survey’ by ConservativeHome.com

https://conservativehome.com/2022/07/12/our-latest-next-tory-leader-survey-mordaunt-leads-badenoch-by-under-ten-votes-in-over-eight-hundred/

I doubt the survey holds up to scrutiny. They don’t say how big the sample was, how their party membership was verified, if it was an internet only survey (many older Conservatives don’t do internet).
FcI @09.12 ......LOL.
doesn't matter really, whoever it is will still wipe the floor with Labour. Pity because I am curious as to what would happen if Labour managed to get into government. Would gully be posting 10 times a day saying how wonderful Rodders is?
The only people they will get to vote for will be the top two chosen by MPs so it doesn't necessarily mean a lot
Indeed, ichkeria, and it's well known that honourable members can't be influenced our swayed with promises of baubles, wealth and great power if only they'll support the worst dross available, and there is an abundance.
This is a link to some more details about the websites survey panel.

They have over 3,300 self-selected members and I would have thought that more than 800 of them would have shown an interest in the leadership poll.

Why are you obsessed with the actual poll. It's irrelevant and I simply used it to start a discussion.

But of course its AB and discussion is impossible without the pendants and the detractors.

One thing I am taking from this is that the left dont like them, so all must be doing something right.

I am also disappointed that race is bought up yet again by the left. We had it the other day too from a lefty commenting on this thread. These people are all British. And that really us End Of.
I can't imagine Khandro would be too enamoured with that quintet.
mozz: "I can't imagine Khandro would be too enamoured with that quintet." - he probably thinks they are all lizards from the planet zog.
Race was not brought up yet again by the left.
You brought it up at 8:22 and your comment was mostly ignored.
I hadn't even heard of Kemi Badenoch until today.

What is always interesting in these things is how the numbers change when the also-rans start dropping out and their supporters have to choose someone else.
very telling that basic acknowledgement of trans people's humanity is such a dealbreaker for so many tories
interesting piece in the Guardian saying Sunak's the only one Labour are scared of. I suspect it's correct

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/jul/12/why-labour-party-tories-rishi-sunak

Four of the top five are the women I notice: does that reflect a largely female response, or am I being sexist?
Ymb,
// Well I knew from your previous posts on the backgrounds of MP's they wouldn't be good for you. //

My posts on Nadhim Zahawi being born in Iraq did not say he shouldn’t be Chancellor (or even PM). I have no gripe about people born abroad becoming MPs or serving the Government. Johnson was a Yank, but I have never held that against him.
If I had the ability to choose I would pick Liz Truss, and I never thought I would hear myself say that
why not sunak ichkeria?
Does Penny Mordaunt know what a woman is? If you do Twitter, she went to some trouble to lay it out:

https://twitter.com/PennyMordaunt/status/1545908402475438080

WHY she chose to use a "Twitter thread" for this, I have no idea. There are better ways.
untitled, Trans people's humanity? Who mentioned that? All I know is Penny Mordaunt, like Keir Starmer, can't tell male from female - and coming from someone aspiring to the top job, that begs the question of where her education is lacking in other areas.
“why not sunak ichkeria?”

There’s something I can’t quite take to about Sunak - he’s just a little too slick for my liking.
But I’m sure he’d be ok
