OK, it's only a poll but would show a trend.

So, in the top five we have:
Penny Mordaunt, 19.6%
Kemi Badenoch, 18.68
Rishi Sunak, 12.11
Suella Braverman, 11.05
Liz Truss,10.93.

Well, my favourites out of those would be Suella and Kemi, both proper Conservatives IMHO. Penny would have been great but for the fact, like Sir Kier, she doesnt know what a woman is so its a big red flag for me that one. Rishi was a favourite of mine but with those taxes I'm not in agreement with his direction.

Thoughts?

say there will be the big four
which cuts them down in a day of the long knives way
In light of current situation with Russia, what are our alternatives?
I posted that same YouTube link recently too, Ellipsis.

It shows how clearly out her depth she is but adversely how we need people like Chris Bryant in parliament.
How people of his character and conviction never apply/aren’t appointed to higher stations is so perplexing.
//Kemi. It will put the labour left in a tailspin, a black woman, oh dear, it would be hilarious watching them tie themselves in knots.//

Aaah - if only she were a trans lesbian as well!
Think you'll find Mourdant has amended her position on the trans thing.
Any chance of ellipsis/fatticusinch answering my question?
Weird that Shaps withdraws within 24 hours. Also odd that Priti, who has a very high opinion of herself, is not standing...
None of them have the charisma of Boris, Boris is sui generis
Problematic, & he made mistakes by not listening to anyone, (particularly the country) but now none of these people could lead the Conservative party to win the next election.

Ok, I’ll do what you rarely do and answer a question.

Appoint someone plausible and who no doubt is more tactically and militarily aware.
Someone who’s already been there and done that, someone free of ridicule because of their past performances, someone not stained with the Johnson mark, another Boris clone and not a sycophantic member of a discredited cabinet who shored up a liar and defended the indefensible ad nauseum.
I’ve mentioned someone before who fits that bill.

But you claim every single one is unsuitable and ‘a shower’ so let’s hear your your candidate?
You’ve labelled the whole lot as unfit so who exactly do you want?
Fatticus: This is the same Chris Bryant who, serving as a member of parliament, posted pictures of himself on a gay dating site wearing white Y-fronts. Do you believe that to be the actions of a sensible person?
Fatticusinch, that doesn’t answer my question. I asked for an alternative to Saudi Arabia.
> In light of current situation with Russia, what are our alternatives?

Sure naomi, that's easy:

1) don't lie that the UK is ending “our dependency on authoritarian regimes for energy” when we're not
2) don't lie that you raised the issue with said regimes when you didn't

This is what makes Truss the Boris continuity candidate ... lying to make herself look good, being found out and challenged about it and then having absolutely no shame. Please can we have somebody better?
Fatticusinch, In answer to your question, I don’t favour any of them.
Ellipsis, I asked for an alternative to Saudi Arabia. What would you suggest?
Paigntonian,
Could’ve been worse, he might have crashed a car whilst dressed in drag.

Bryant’s pictures were published by the media but as far as I can tell he did nothing that warranted criminal action nor an investigation by a select committee, nor did anything similar to Pincher.

> Ellipsis, I asked for an alternative to Saudi Arabia. What would you suggest?

You missed the point. Truss is claiming UK is ending “our dependency on authoritarian regimes for energy” - but we are not.

//Fatticusinch, that doesn’t answer my question. I asked for an alternative to Saudi Arabia.//

What’s your alternative?
Ellipsis, I didn’t miss the point. If we don’t want to trade with Saudi because of their appalling record on human rights, what’s the alternative?
Fatticusinch, I don’t have an alternative. That’s why I’m asking the people complaining about it.
> Ellipsis, I didn’t miss the point. If we don’t want to trade with Saudi because of their appalling record on human rights, what’s the alternative?

Naomi, the very fact that there is no alternative is what means that Truss should not be saying that the UK is ending “our dependency on authoritarian regimes for energy”.

What she's saying is a lie, it's obviously a lie, because we can't end on dependency on some authoritarian regimes for energy. Not any time soon. That is the point.
