I think that the UK is not ready for a PM whose skin is not quite the right shade of pale. Despite Mordaunt being female, I suspect that she will appeal more to the Tories than Rishi.
No link, I'm afraid. This is just an observation.

\\ anyone else a little depressed that there isn't a candidate up to the mark for the job?//
Yes, that does worry me and more so than a little depression.
No point worrying about it. What they've done doesn't bode well for the country's future or for their own - but they've thrown the country under a bus and that's that. Too late for regrets.
Khandro,

Anyone who says ‘But, but he’s a Hindu’ twice in a thread is obviously racist. Don’t pretend otherwise.
Religion isn't race. Anyone can be Hindu or anything else they fancy - apart from Jewish.

//anyone else a little depressed that there isn't a candidate up to the mark for the job?//

There is but he’s far too honest, decent, trustworthy and competent, he’ll not get anywhere near the top job ironically and British politics will stay in the gutter into which it’s been dragged.
In no way was it obvious it was a joke. Maybe a ;-) at the end would have helped.

Any chance you could find my President / domicile / tax comment?
Naomi it’s only his word that it’s a joke!
People on here have been known to track others down and contact them/send stuff
Fitti: //Anyone who says ‘But, but he’s a Hindu’ twice in a thread is obviously racist. Don’t pretend otherwise.//

Absolute rubbish!! It's a statement of fact, nothing at all judgemental about it.
I know ... but Khandro's not a member of one of the stupid 'cliques' here and never has been. The Eds here must be so tired of all this childish nonsense.
There is a link here to the slight ‘untruths’ told by the candidates last night:

Khandro, it is judgemental. You reject him because he's Hindu. That's judgemental.
The country under a bus. Oh god, you still live in hope.
What on earth are you talking about, pimply? Do you know?

You, I and anyone else of a similar age knows why you repeated the word But in the sentence, I didn’t just come out of the river on a bike.
‘Childish’ you say, Naomi?

You threw your toys out the pram and no mistake on that thread. ;-)
Thanks for a reminder of that post ZM.
Reminded me of what a tedious and thankless task being a moderator of AB is, and how glad I was when I ceased doing it :-)
but Gromit ... the sense of power ... the ability to delete opinions that differ from your own ... the vol-au-vents at the Mods' country house weekends ...
With good reason, ZM - an experiment the result of which was expected. Khandro doesn't know where anyone here lives - and cares even less - and since I know who he is you may rest assured that you're all quite safe.

Incidentally, I don't believe for a moment that you reported that post. I sincerely hope I'm right because anything less would be very disappointing.
Another lefty racist.

Join your mate Gromit.
naomi I take your point, it was judgemental, - but not racist.

I have always, & still do, pay taxes in the UK so;

“Taxation without representation is tyranny.” said James Otis in 1761.

Therefor, I have a clear & unalienable right to have views about who runs Britain, & will continue to do so.
