Gromit, //What a thoroughly silly OP and thread this turned out to be.//
Insults are one method of trying to silence opposition, but from my point of view, utterly futile. I grant you some of the comments here are thoroughly silly - but the link I provided is just the latest in an increasingly growing number of examples of the 'woke' culture - and there's nothing sillier than that. Regardless of the upset it may cause, it has gone from cancelling freedom of expression to banning literature and art to demanding acceptance of the ludicrous (and demonstrably false) notion that men can be women. A simple example here is the discouragement of the use of the terms husband and wife lest anyone take offence - which adequately embraces the agenda but neglects to consider - or indeed, care about - the offence it may cause to husbands and wives who value their status as married people.
In the immortal words of the inimitable Stephen Fry, “It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so *** what."
I'll second that.
