so the EUSSR is being obstructive, what has that got to do with Brexit? So you think we should have stayed so they won't be mean to us? Eff that, they sow the wind they know what they'll reap.
If British holidaymakers stopped going to Spain it would hurt the Spanish economy far more than it would worry most Brits. There are plenty of other holiday destinations out there for those desperate to go abroad, and even more if the want to help the British economy and stay in the UK.
I don't see any need to boycott Spain completely Tora, but if they're demanding over a grand be spent during a fortnight's holiday, people are going to give them the finger and go elsewhere. If the story is true, the Spanish authorities are fools to themselves.
These conditions of entry apply to Australian, American, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilians, etc. etc. I wish the Welsh government would do the same and deter some of the "less desirable" sorts that like a few days away dossing in caravans and campers. If you are spending that sort of dough there are better places than Spain to spend it.
I’ve been to Spain recently and I wasn’t asked for anything. Another member of the family was there last week and it was the same for them so it’s not being enforced too rigorously.
> Is anyone exempt?
> - Anyone with residency in Spain or permission to study or work in Spain

> - A foreign diplomat
> How can the tourist prove they have the money?
> - The tourist must prove they have the money in cash, or by presenting certified travelers' cheques or credit cards.
> - These must be accompanied by the bank account's official statement or an updated bank book. Letters from banks or internet bank statements will not be accepted.
At least holiday destinations are optional.
Unlike the new and wondrous rules regarding gas storage and 'sharing' that were ̶i̶m̶p̶o̶s̶e̶d̶ , er, I mean 'voted for' by the EU yesterday.
If we were still in the EU you little people would have restrictions on your gas use (15% at the moment) so our/your gas could be diverted to more important things like German industry.
I know some of you will think it's a brilliant scheme.
"It remains to see whether it will be consistently enforced in practice by the Spanish authorities, but it in theory could be applied as and when Spanish authorities see fit."
Not consistently enforced then, just more 'journalists' taking a fact and filling space.
Spice: "If we were still in the EU you little people .......etc" - why are we "little people"? Because we want to run our own country? Because we don't want to collaborate with foreigners to help them to subjugate us? You VBQC types do have some strange ideas.
